Dear Brothers
and Sisters,
Greetings of Peace, Joy and Love from the
Philippines!
On behalf of the survivors of Super Typhoon
Yolanda that hit our country and devastated many areas in the Visayas Region, we would like to reiterate
our deepest appreciation to all of you for the overwhelming support you continuously extend to the beneficiaries
with whom we have direct contact: our families, collaborators and target groups
in our different Centers, the poor people from the coastal areas of Cadiz,
Negros, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Masbate, Cebu, Tacloban, Javier, Palo
and Samar. We cannot put into words the joy and gratitude that filled the
hearts of those who received bountiful blessings from your generosity. For
them, it was like “manna from heaven” giving renewed strength and hope to start
building their lives again. This experience of being loved and cared for when
everything seemed hopeless, created tremendous impact in their faith in God and
in the goodness of their fellow human beings. More than ever life became more
precious and meaningful to them.
In this connection, we are sending you the
file attachments of the partial reports of the different communities who were
entrusted to take charge of the donated funds which were given out in three
different phases including, as well transport and cargo/ courier expenses:
Phase I - Relief: distribution of goods,
cash, medical intervention, etc
Phase II - Rehabilitation: clearing, house
repairs/construction
Phase III - Livelihood: fishing boat
repairs and replacement, fishing nets, pig dispersal, working tools, capital
for small scale enterprise, etc.
Moreover, the sisters from Luzon and
Visayas took active part in alleviating the situation through counselling and
debriefing sessions of survivors in the different evacuation Centres and work
areas as well as transporting survivors to the rehabilitation Centres or to
their families.
