“Journeying towards a global, ecological and solidary consciousness we live the mission as followers of Jesus in a changing world”
The Visayas-Vietnam
Cluster Assembly is always looked forward to with joyful anticipation by the
sisters from the different Communities-Taller in the Cluster. For them it is a
time of refreshment, closer bonding, re-creation of mind and spirit, deepening
of SSJ Charism and even relaxation in the midst of work.
The 9th Visayas-Vietnam Cluster Assembly started in
the afternoon of the 15th day of October, 2016 with the opening
Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Butch, CICM at St. Bonifacia Hall, St.
Theresita’s Academy, Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. The ambience
of the place, the meaningful introduction with creative symbols and dance, the
gift and presence of all the sisters in the Cluster with the most appreciated inspiring
presence of Sr. Milagros Maravilla, the Provincial Coordinator and Sr. Marcelina
Sta. Cruz, the Provincial Vicar and above all, the simple but solemn
Eucharistic Celebration Itself, made all of us feel and experience the loving
and guiding presence of God through Jesus in the Spirit and that of our
foundress St. Bonifacia and founder Fr. Francisco. We felt we were ready for
the task ahead of us.
v Each
Community-Taller creatively presented the highlights in its life and
apostolate. Sr. Milagros shared, too, the situations and realities of the
sisters in Papua New Guinea and in Luzon Clusters while Marcie informed the
group about the projects in the sheltering apostolate of C-T –Murphy where she
belongs. The sharing brought joy to everybody and feelings of closeness,
oneness and deeper bonding with the rest of the sisters in the Province.
v The
sisters as a group were able to agree in consensus and spelled out what they
think are the three main issues they are confronted with as a congregation, the
reasons why each issue is important, its elements or aspects and the steps
needed to be undertaken in order to deal with it.
v The
collated and enriched Evaluation of the Implementation of OMG of the Cluster
was synthesized and completed.
v Resolutions
of the cluster group were drawn out giving emphasis on how each one and each
C-T will respond to the challenges on ecological
and global issues by looking more outwardly and making connections with
NGOs and GAS, JPIC, Gender sensitivity, Women issues, “Wag kang Magnakaw’ Campaign, etc.
v Marcie’s
echo on the International Lay Josephines-Siervas de San Jose Encounter she
attended in Salamanca, Spain last August, 2016 was very substantial and
enriching. We gained a lot of knowledge about the realities of the Lay
Josephines and of our common journey with them throughout these past years and as
we continue to venture together the process of LJ-SSJ Integration.
v The
last Morning Praise on the 5th was very touching when each C-T
offered its symbol of growth accompanied by a prayer.
v During
the closing Mass we expressed our gratitude to God’s never ending presence,
accompaniment and guidance, and to all of you our beloved sisters the world
over who joined us through your prayers and sacrifices and through your words of greetings, love and
encouragement sent to us through texts and emails. We really felt your
closeness to us giving us energy and inspiration.
It
has been a very participative Cluster assembly, renewing, life-giving and at
the same time challenging. We had been so much blessed with the animating and
supportive presence of Mila and Marcie who did not only guide us but integrated
themselves as one of us actively participating in our discussions,
deliberations and in making interventions.
Indeed,
the team working in the preparation for the cluster assembly was well-organized
and well-coordinated among all the C-Ts members. The never-ending generosity of
C-T Silay to host the assembly every year is another blessing to the Cluster.
Truly, God has showered our assembly with bountiful graces and has nourished us spiritually through the daily celebration of the Eucharist and the Christian Prayer of the Church.
