The 11th PNG Cluster Assembly started with an intercultural and intergenerational atmosphere held in CT- Bonifacia, Korobosea with the theme: UNIFIED IN MISSION, MAKING VISIBLE THE CHARISM.
Aurora Yolanda Pugal, the PNG Cluster Coordinator welcomed the members, especially Belinda, who finally said her yes courageously “to be part of the Team PNG of 7 sisters, signifying the fullness of the Holy Spirit bearing her 7 gifts.
After the Welcome and Orientation, we spent an hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to dispose themselves for the days of encounter and to reflect on the challenges of interculturality in the living of our Mission as Siervas de San Jose as illumined by the article Living Mission Interculturally: Faith, Culture and the Renewal of Praxis by Anthony J. Gittins, CSSp.
The sharing and consensus on the challenging points in connection to our sisterly relations and with others whom we work with and encounter are the following:
1. Learning and speaking the language, being at the heart of the culture
2. Intercultural and intergenerational living in community-taller
- That is faith-based
- Where we build the home together (the “WE”)
- Walking united with our differences
- Re-think the way we think
3. Learning the wisdom of the midwife working always on the edge to facilitate, to guide and affirm with woman and as woman
4. Respect for dialogue
In the afternoon, Marcelina echoed 2018 Team of the Congregation in Lumubashi, Congo with the review of the Strategic Plan with certain modifications in the chronogram. The presentation of the life and mission of the sisters during their visit to the different communities-taller in Congo Cluster brought us closer to their realities.
At 5:30 in the afternoon was the Eucharistic Celebration with Sir John Cardinal Ribat, who stayed on for dinner until the cultural presentations that featured the cultures of our vocation prospects and collaborators who were with C-T Korobosea. Cardinal Ribat sang a song in his tokples (dialect). Everyone enjoyed the familial and informative encounter. 
This first day was organized by our very resourceful moderators, Lucrecia and Crystiliza, who also took charge of the ambience and all that was asked for the day’s tasks and activities. 
The second day of the Assembly started with the Mass with Fr. Bruce Kupi, the youngest in the Archdiocese, whom our Sisters assigned in Kupiano accompanied during his growing years.
Belinda and Minerva had a very creative and attention-catching recap of the previous day of the Assembly.
The CAP Review given by Marcelina and the illumination on what is Prophetic by Yolanda motivated and gave direction for the undertaking of the task of this day. A very valuable moment was spent to articulate and deepen on how each one understands being a prophet and what is prophetic.
That is why when each C-T presented their CAP followed by the PNG Cluster Best Practices of Laudato Si’, the sisters were able to identify the prophetic and transformative elements. This became a moment of affirmation, confirmation and greater challenge of how our Charism is being lived here and now. Each C-T CAP was truly enriched and charismatic features were underlined making these more pronounced in the four dimensions.
What helped enrich this process were the echo of Marcelina on the Theme of Women and Gender prior to the Cluster Assembly and the video presentation of Cardinal Ribat’s advocacy to address the effects of global climate change.
The final day of our Cluster Assembly was joyfully moderated by Concepcion with Monica as her partner. We, as a Cluster, revisited and redefined our Cluster Projects with facility as a fruit of the process we did during this
1. Communities-taller that incarnate the Nazareth Spirituality
2. Ignited to transform the working world through the Charism
A. Active participation of lay collaborators in making the charism visible, transmitting and sharing the same
B. Vocation Ministry
C. Formation of new LJ groups and re-integration of existing LJ
3. Promotion of Women’s Dignity and Care of Creation
4. Language Learning and Practice
The rest of the day was spent on the Reports of the Commissions and Committees of the Province done by the respective members. This was an experience of interconnectedness and being part of the Congregational body. Then, we proceeded to the written evaluation of the process lived during the assembly as other matters and concerns were tackled accordingly during the past days.
The Cluster Assembly ended with the Eucharistic Celebration at 6:00 p.m. presided by Fr. Alfred Maravilla, SDB. Time was given after the communion prayer for each sister to express her sentiment of gratitude, joy, appreciation or affirmation, bringing their hopes and dreams for those whom we live and work with and those entrusted to us in our apostolic presences.
Then, Yolanda formally closed the assembly, thanking each sister for their participation and collaboration in making the assembly very enriching with the treasured presence of Marcelina and her contributions who lived with each C-T prior to the Assembly; and challenged each one to continue to incarnate Nazareth as we live out our Mission making visible our Charism, especially in Papua New Guinea.
